Selek pointed out that 40 per cent of the pieces of the vehicle are designed newly, its designing period has lasted longer than expected because of the global economic crisis, during this period they worked with foreign and independent designers and J10 is produced as a model 70 percent different from J9.

Selek said: “This year we are aiming at a serious growth target. In terms of production we are aiming at a growth target of approximately 2.5 times and in terms of endorsement our growth target is 2 times. We are planning to increase our total sales from 11 thousand to 25 thousand and our endorsement from 300 million liras to 600 million liras. The productions made for Peugeot and Citroen are predominantly included in these forecasts. In addition, we are foreseeing an increase regarding Renault Trucks and Hyundai productions and a growth with regards to J10.” Murat Selek noted that currently there is a very high demand in the domestic market and his year they will be focusing on meeting this demand. Selek said that they are also performing activities with respect to exportation, 20 per cent of the total J9 production is exported and a similar export target also for J10 is being aimed at. Karsan Marketing Director Vançın Kitapçı stated that by means of Karsan Marketing which was reactivated in February 2009, they started giving a quicker and more effective service to the customers and they are hoping to achieve a greater commercial success with J10. After pointing out that J9 is a vehicle preferred especially for public and student transportation for years and proved success, Kitapçı added:

“We are aiming at performing our current domestic market activities also in the foreign markets. We made our first attempt for J10 exportation in Russia. We participated in Busworld fair organized for the first time in Russia with J10 and we had very promising feedbacks. Within the scope of product development process, J10 is renewed in line with our customers’ demands and expectations and with the help of our widespread distributor network and increased service quality it will be used for public transportation for a long time.” Kitapçı said that their export target is between 500 and 1 thousand within a period of 12 months and they are planning to export 200 vehicles in a 6 months period.
